The Holocaust: Our Part in the War

Even though the US started making more laws to make immigration harder, in 1939 and 1940 more than half of the immigrants were Jewish refugees. Then in 1942 the American Jewish leader Stephen Wise got word of the plan of the killing of the Jews and he wanted to make this public. So later in 1942, at a press conference, he released the information of the German's plan to kill the Jews to the American public. Even though the information was released, the US did not put much of an emphasis on spreading it in it's full mass. An example is the New York Times published and article about the killings in Chelmno, but the information was on the 6th page!

I chose this music because the Jews were getting killed in Europe and we (America) don't put a huge emphasis on it. That is the truly sad part.
