Thomas Giancristiano: An Education Leader
About Thomas Giancristiano
During his long career as an educator in
Massachusetts, Thomas Giancristiano worked as an administrator within
the Boston and Winthrop public school systems. From 2000 to 2005, Mr.
Giancristiano served as superintendent of Winthrop Public Schools. His
achievements in this position include overseeing the construction of
William Gorman/Fort Banks Elementary School and Arthur T. Cummings
Elementary School. He also spearheaded technology initiatives and
responded to state budget cuts by exploring alternative financing
methods that engaged the larger community. Prior to his term as
superintendent, Thomas Giancristiano served as principal of Winthrop
Earlier in his career, Mr. Giancristiano worked as a middle school and high school social studies teacher. He later served as the social studies curriculum coordinator for Boston Public Schools’ 19 middle schools, and as an administrative assistant at the district offices. Mr. Giancristiano holds Massachusetts state certifications as a superintendent, school business administrator, and high school and middle school principal.
