Confucius

The reason that led Confucius to create Confucianism was because of all the disorder in China at the time.  "He experienced the disorder in China for his whole life."  And that is a long time because Confucius was said to have lived from 551 to 479 B.C.E.  "He believed that the Chinese government needed to change, like he believed that the rulers should govern wisely."  He wanted a chance to have a new beginning for China, where everything would work and fit together perfectly.  "The goal of Confucianism was very simple, it was to achieve a just and peaceful society."  He achieved that goal and everything was good, everybody respected their elders.  This is why Confucius created such a diverse style of government at the time.

Civil servants were a big influence created by Confucianism.  "From the influence of Confucianism, Han leaders thought that it would be better to hire civil servants based on their ability not their parents."  They would hire civil servants after putting them through exams.  "The picture shows of so many people trying to become civil servants, but very few actually make it."  This followed the belief of Confucianism because the society would be much more peaceful knowing that the civil servant were meant be in the position that they were.  "Confucius believed that the government should govern wisely."  And by giving exams it was very wise of them to do that.  That is how this picture shows the beliefs of Confucianism.

Confucianism believed that you should respect your elders.  "Confucius believed in five basic relationships, ruler and subject, husband and wife, father and son, older sibling and younger sibling, friend and friend."  This allowed people to know where they were in status and who they should respect the most.  "From people respecting others, the reward was to set a good example."  From people setting a good example, the society was more peaceful and unified.  "Confucius also believed in the golden rule, which was, ''Do not do to others what you would not want done to you."  This made people treat others very well.  That is how this picture shows the beliefs of Confucianism.

Confucius believed in the love of scholarship.  "His teachings drew students to listen and spread his beliefs to other parts of the world."  That allowed a lot bigger area of the world to follow Confucianism.  "Confucius said to one of his students, "Shall I teach you what knowledge is?  When you know a thing, say that you know it; when you do not know a thing, admit that you do not know it.  This is knowledge"(Stated in the History Alive Books).  So he is saying that you should know when to admit things, this is knowledge.  "He also said, "The gentlemen first practices what he preaches and then preaches what he practices"(Stated in History Alive Textbooks).  So it is saying people should not be hypocrites.  That is how this picture shows the belief of Confucianism.
