Stable Food Supply

As the Nile flooded, the fields were fertilized for the Ancient Egyptians to grow crops.The Egyptians grew many crops such as dates,beans,peas, lentils,and onions in the fields.The Egyptians had a calendar to indicate when the Nile would flood.This calendar was divided up into three seasons.The Egyptians did not just have vegetables to eat they also had a large variety of meats such as duck,pork, and other meats.



The Pharoh was the the head of the government and owned everything.The Pharaoh also had a group of government officials who helped make laws.There were four great Pharaohs who had ruled Egypt at some point.These pharaoh so we're named Kufu, Hatshepsa ,Ramases and senusrat.Kufu was famous for building the Great pyramid. Hetsheptsa was the first female pharaoh who had dressed like a man due to the low attention to women back then.Ramases was a strong military leader who had 100 wives and 100 children.He also told the Egyptians that he was god. Senusrat was famous for his outstanding art work and for making the city rich.

The Egyptians believed in many gods such as Osiris and plenty of other gods.Osiris was a god that was believed to be the god of the underworld after his brother killed him.Ra was a god who was believed to be a falcon that had the sun on his head.It was believed that whenever the sun rised it was the symbol of renewal and creation.Anubis was believed to be a wild dog and the god of funerals and deaths.Horus was believed to be a falcon and the god of the sky.Horus lost his eye fighting after Seth killed his father.The ancient Egyptians believed that Horus gave power to each Pharaoh.The Egyptians believed that the gods had magical powers.

Social Structure

The social pyramid was a pyramid which ranged from the lower class people to the upperclass jobs.The least greatest part of the social pyramid was the peasants.The second least greatest part of the social pyramid is the farmers/laborers.The third least greatest part of the social pyramid was the craftsmen and artisans.the fourth job was scribes which started the more upperclass people.The fifth job was the priests and officials,and the greatest job was being the pharaoh.Your job would have depended on the person you were born by.As an example if your parents were slaves you were to grow up to be a slave.

The Arts

The Egyptians arts were paintings to represent daily life in Ancient Egypt or massive three dimensional statues.The first statues the Egyptians made were the pyramids.The tallest pyramid known as the The great pyramid of Giza stands 480 feet tall and is the biggest pyramid out of the family.The rest of the pyramids stand around 138 feet tall and is recorded to be one of the largest man made structures ever.The great Sphinx is also another one of the many sculptures.The great Sphinx was believed to be around 2,500 before Christ. Sphinx stands about 241 feet tall with the ears being 3 feet tall the eyes being 6 feet tall and the nose being 5 feet tall.The original Sphinx was believed to be colored with red and blue.The Egyptians did not just have sculptures and paintings they also included instruments in the arts.

Technology advancements

The Egyptian technology all had a purpose for being invented.The Egyptians created the toothbrush,toothpaste,mathematics,make up,ship building,medicine,papyrus sheets,whiting,pen and ink and mummies.The Egyptians created these things for a reason.For example they created the toothbrush and toothpaste because the bread they ate would have messed up their teeth so this invention would help prevent this from happening.

Written Language

The Egyptians writing was called Hieroglyphics.Hieroglyphics could stand for one or two letters or a word.The Rosetta Stone found in the 17th century could help us understand what the Hieroglyphics meant.Reading these symbols would be like reading a whole other language.The Egyptians recorded these symbols on walls or on papyrus.
