1. The offspring receives one allele from each parent, if there are two then the one that is most dominant passes on that gene.

2. Both alleles are expressed at the same time, {A black allele (B) for a flower plus a white allele (W) for a flower that are expressed at the same time makes a black and white flower}.

3. There is NO recessive allele.

4. Some characteristics do not show dominance.

5. When the dominance is lacking it is usually marked with a lower case letter.

2. The phenotype ratio for a white flower mixed with a red flower would be: 1/4 Red, 1/2 Pink, and 1/4 white.
