At the Forefront of Modern Architecture
About Tom Kundig
Master architect Tom Kundig has spent the past three decades designing bespoke structures--residences, commercial venues, and places of work--that have resulted in his being recognized as one of the foremost living architects in the United States. His firm, Olson Kundig Architects, designs one-of-a-kind structures that have won numerous awards and distinctions. In 2013 alone, Tom Kundig’s work was recognized with multiple Architizer A+ Popular Choice Awards, an American Architecture Award from the Chicago Athenaeum, a Residential Architect Award, and two AIA National Honor Awards, as well as a World Interiors News Award. Among Kundig's many other recognitions is his inclusion in the Wallpaper 150, a list of 150 individuals whose work has improved or inspired the way we live our lives.
Mr. Kundig is not only popular with the public and in competitions; he is also respected by his peers as an authoritative voice in the world of architectural design. He has served on dozens of architectural design juries since the 1990s, including the Western Living Awards and the Lyceum Fellowship, for which he was jury chair.
Tom Kundig has worked as a lecturer, visiting professor, and visiting design critic at institutions ranging from Syracuse University to London’s Royal Academy of Arts.
