Tousssaint L'Ouverture was born May 20, 1743 and died April 7, 1803. He liberated Haiti. In 1791 he led a huge slave revolt against the French in Hispanola. In 1795, His army helped the French defeat the Spanish. His army tried to fight the French and lost, L'Ouverture was sent to prison where he died. L'Ouverture's army defeated the French. In 1804, Haiti was declared an independent country of the French ruler.
He was a former slave in Haiti. He began his military career as a leader of the 1791 slave rebellion in the French colony of Saint Domingue. lol lol blck
