Feudal Japan

Guiding Questions:

1. What is Feudalism?   

Japanese feudal class structure placed merchants on the lowest rung.

2. What led to the rise of Feudalism in Japan?

The king was losing money and so now when the population increases the cash increases also.  

3. What are 3 art forms from ancient Japan and how did they impact/influence society at that time period?

Three are forms are ancient pottery, sculptures, and ink painting they helped influence the society by making them some money and to see vary cool and beautiful things.   

4. What was the social structure of Feudal Japan? Be sure to explain why each class is placed where they were in the Japanese social structure.

KING: The king sat at the top of the feudal society and  ruled over large areas of land.

Church Officials and Nobles: These people owned  land and this held much power and wealth.

Knights: They provided military service to nobles in return piece of their land.

Peasants: Peasants known as serfs worked the land for the nobles.
