*choke- have severe difficulty in breathing because of a constricted or obstructed throat or lack of air Make sure you don't choke on the popcorn kernel.
Abdominal Thrust- a first aid procedure used to treat choking I used Abdominal thrust to save his life.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)- a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack and near drowning in which someones breathing or heartbeat has stopped. I guess his CPR didn't work; so his patient died.
universal precautions- an approach to infection control to treat all human body fluids as if they were known to be infectious for HIV and other diseases Universal Precautions are very important.
accident- an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally; typically resulting in injury or damage My mother and I have gotten in an accident before.
breathing- the process of taking air into and expelling it from the lungs He said he could barley breathe that morning.
*compression- the action of compressing or being compressed Make sure you use a lot of compression when using a hammer.
*emergency- a serious, unexpected and dangerous situation requiring immediate action This is a very serious emergency, Hurry !
*faint- weak and dizzy; close to losing consciousness I was about to faint.
*first aid- help giving to a sick or injured person until full medical treatment is available I keep a first aid kit in the car, just in case.
*heartbeat- the pulsation of the heart She could hear my heartbeat.
*pulse- a rhythmical throbbing of the arteries as blood is propelled through them I just need to feel your pulse.
*rescue- to save from a dangerous or distressing situation The prince was about to rescue the princsess.
*respiration- the act of breathing Her respiration was doing good.
