Swamp Peace

I sat among the beautiful yet eerie bald cypress trees

Navigating through the thick green lily pads

I watch as alligators so quietly swim by

And as snakes lurk through the moss as if nothing else is around

The still water on which I float

Just like a log, me and my dinghy

The shade from the trees hide me from the so treacherous sun

Sounds of birds from the swamp fill my head

Turtles sun bathing on nearby stumps lie in peace

All of which is enjoying the quiet wetland, including me
