This month in your buildings, you will be getting an update on the FIDs. To help alleviate any confusion, it will include a response to PSEA's position on this topic.

2 year....iPad Switcharoony.

Well, it's approaching the two year mark since we've embarked on the 1:1 iPad initiative.  A survey will be distributed to all staff, parents, and students to help guide our discussions about the details of this "switcharoony".

Storytown Readers for Grades 1-5

To help save the kiddo's backs, we have ordered and received PDF versions of the Storytown readers.  You will now be able push this version of the anthology to their iPad.  The resouce will be accessible on a website that is currently being built.  So, stay tuned!

PA Learns Initiative

Apple and PDE are developing course content for a variety of subject areas.  This content will be available on iTunesU.  Several of our teachers will be involved in its creation.

Forbidden Apps

If you find an iPad that seems to be acting possessed, please check for the following forbidden apps.  Do not feel the need to check every iPad.

Games that include the following names in their titles....

Flappy, Smashy, Squishy, Splashy, Punchy, Blocky, Snappy, Swimmy, Hoppy, Smacky, Splatty, Jumpy, and Crossy

(LOL...go ahead...read the list again....you know you want to.)

And the following keyboard apps....

Colorful Keyboard, Keyboards Themes, Keyboard Skins, Fancy Key, Custom Keyboard, Pimp My Keyboard, Stylish Keyboard, Customize Your Keyboard

Comcast Internet Essentials

Comcast has decided to extend their Internet Essentials Program.  This program offers affordable internet access for families who have children qualifying for the National School Lunch Program.  There will be brochures and posters coming soon.  We plan to advertise this program in the community and our schools.
