Apple: Get a Mac

PC users who had Microsoft Vista, PC's newest operating system, had been complaining about its many deficiencies so Apple used aggressive competitive advertising to highlight the benefits of a Mac and the deficiencies of PCs.

These ads integrated ways to connect with the target market in a humorous manner

Apple Get a Mac ad - Better was the first video of the campaign. It showed how the the Mac is more personable and useful in your daily life rather than the business driven PC. A great way to get the customer or viewer interested in what they are watching is adding humor. The two men in the ad represent a mac and the other a PC. How they refute each other and explain what each of them obtain is humorous.

Compares the benefits of a Mac and the weaknesses of a PC.

This video shows how this campaign compares the advantages of Mac and the disadvantages of a PC. These ads invoked discussions in the workplace and with friends about the benefits and disadvantages of both products.

This advertising campaign resulted in increased sales for Mac.

It took a few commercials for sales to increase and it did so by 12% in that first quarter. During the last quarter of 2006, when the commercials started to really gain in popularity, Apple saw an increase in sales of 39%. Sales went up drastically over the entire four-year campaign.

I would bring the campaign back by using different actors. Maybe even famous actors to attract a wider audience. -Mallory Geniesse

These commercials really have people on board with the idea that Mac is better than and other PC. This commercial did the job

I agree with what Mallory's idea is. I think this was a very successful campaign but would be even better with famous actors. Even if they made it funnier it could even be better than it was.
