News and Views on Coin and Bullion Investments
Universal Coin and Bullion is your one-stop spot for all things numismatic.
Founded in 1994 by precious metals and rare coin expert Mike Fuljenz, Universal Coin and Bullion is one of the well-regarded, nationally acclaimed and award-winning sources for gold, rare coin, and numismatic collectors.
Universal Coin and Bullion has been a market maker within the industry for more than 15 years, offering outstanding investment strategies; timely, in-depth numismatic analysis, and comprehensive consultation services to clients across the nation. Specializing in rare and certified United States coins, Type II and Type III Liberty Double Eagles, Indian Head Quarter and Half Eagles, as well as Gold and Platinum Eagle coins, the company is run by an award-winning executive team with a strong understanding of rare coin markets.
The company—which is housed in a 35,000 square foot office complex complete with vault services, national buying software, and ongoing training that provides some of the best service in the rare coin industry—is one of a kind. Founder Michael Fuljenz, an award-winning author of books and newsletters and renowned numismatic consumer advocate, has consulted with local and national agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the United States Mint, the Numismatic Crime Information Center, the U.S. Postal Service, the Better Business Bureau and Crime Stoppers. He has also taught law enforcement agencies how to recognize and combat coin fraud.
Universal Coin and Bullion weathered a 2007 lawsuit involving a dispute over the prices customers paid for rare gold and silver coins. The case was later dismissed, but these unfounded accusations didn’t keep Fuljenz (who’s known in numismatic circles as “America's Gold Expert”) from additional honors, including the prestigious Clemy Award by the Numismatic Literary Guild. Mike also has been appointed to the State Bar of Texas Advertising Review Committee.
BBB-accredited since 1995, Universal Coin and Bullion also offers information and educational materials, including books, newsletters, and articles featuring singular commentary and analysis from Mike Fuljenz that can help customers and collectors pursue financial and collecting excellence with every acquisition. Furthermore, Universal Coin offers expert consumer education advice about trading and selling on the secondary market.
“It’s important to do your homework before selling or buying gold and silver coins,” Fuljenz told a Texas television news team. “Check whether the dealer has professional affiliations within the industry, such as membership in the Professional Numismatists Guild, and if the dealer has received awards or recognition from peers in the coin industry.” Fuljenz also recommends checking a company’s ratings with the Better Business Bureau before proceeding with a purchase.
Fuljenz and Universal Coin and Bullion have received awards from both the Press Club of Southeast Texas and the Numismatic Literary Guild for this type of consumer protection service work—just one of many distinct benefits the company offers clients, nationwide.
