Bill of Rights Project
- What is the Bill of Rights? The collective name for the first Ten Amendments to the United States.
- Why were they created? The constitution didn't contain a declaration of human rights.
- Who opposed the creation of the Bill of Rights? George Mason
- Why were they important? It limited the governments role and gave individual certain rights.
I think the 8th Amendment is most important to me because now a days, I hear lots of stories and situations about how police mistreat and abuse people. I don't think they're doing their job by harming others. It's not fair. Also how jail time is assigned differently on similar cases. I believe you should be able to have a bond depending on your type of crime. Crimes and jail time should be handled properly, not based on favoritism or race, or anything!
