The importance of the moon
The moon's role
The moon's is very important to the Earth. There are moon phases every night. There are a total of eight moon phases. Each moon phase depends on how much sunlight the Earth is blocking to get to the moon. The moon rotates around the Earth and Earth revolves around the sun. The moon also causes tides. Eclipses also occur because of the arrangement of the sun, moon, and the Earth.
We have moon phases everyday. How much sunlight that the Earth blocks to get to the moon causes moon phases. Moon phases affect us here on Earth because that provides a little bit of light to be able to see in the night. Moon phases are usually different every night. Moon phases also causes us on Earth to have eclipses. The arrangement of the type of moon phases, the sun, and the Earth causes the lunar and solar eclipses
Tides occur because of the amount of gravity or force that it pulls. Without the moon we would not have tides. There are two types of tides low and high. Tides affect us because if you want to go kayaking on a river, then there would have to be high tides in order for them to push you through. If there are low tides then you would have to wait until a high tide comes in. Usually, everyone here on Earth gets two high tides and two low tides.
An eclipse occurs when an object in space comes between the sun and a third object, it casts a shadow on that object. There are different types of eclipses. One of them is a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. The darkest part in a solar eclipse is the umbra and the largest part is the penumbra. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, blocking sunlight from Earth. A lunar eclipse occurs at a full moon when Earth is directly between the moon and the sun.
Besides all this the moon is very important to us on the Earth. The moon is also part of why we get seasons. Without the moon we would also not have tides, the water level would all be the same. We would have a dark night without something from above to shine down a little bit on us. Without the moon we would also not have eclipses, nor moon phases. This would make our lives very hard, so I am proud that we have a moon and that it shines mostly everynight.
