Fidel Castro is a previous Military Leader and President in Cuba. He was born on August 13th, 1926. He is still alive, being 88 years of age. He was born in Biran, Cuba.

Has Cuba benefitted or suffered under Fidel Castro's 47 year rule?

He has both hurt and helped Cuba. Fortunately, it seems that he was helpful to Cuba, but harm to the United States. He transformed Cuba into a communist state, and was in change of the Cuban Missle Crisis, which was when the USSR sent nukes to Cuba. He has made Cuba one of the safest nations in Latin America. He become a symbol of communist revolution in Latin America as well. In South America, he also sent troops to help Mandela fight off the racist British. He has helped several people and groups out so much, throughout his time in power. Once he was through with being in power, after nearly 5 decades, he handed his power off to his younger brother Raul Castro, in 2008.
