Giant Panda

Panadas eat any of 25 bamboo species in the wild . Bamboo leaves contain in the highest protein levels. Bamboo with stems have less protein. Only a few bamboo species are widespread at the high altitudes pandas now inhabit. 99% of Pandas diet is bamboo.

Giant Pandas normally live in native to South Central China. Mainly sometimes they live in Sichuan province and also in the Shaanxi and Gansu province. The giant panda lives in a few mountain ranges in central China.

It's easily to recognize by the large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and its round body. Giant pandas are identified by their distinctive black and white coloring. Their ears, muzzle, eyes, shoulders and legs are black while the rest of their body is white. -

Giant Pandas live in broadleaf and coniferous forests with a dense understory of bamboo. At elevations between 5,000 and 10,000 feet. Torrential rains or dense mist throughout the year characterizes these forests, often shrouded in heavy clouds.

In the past, they had been grouped in they had been grouped in the Procyonidae family along with raccoons and less pandas. In 1980's testing determined that giant pandas were bears belonging in the Ursidae family more then the Procyonidae family.

Giant Pandas firsted appeared suddenly during the late Pliocene or early Pleistocene.No more than 2 or 3 million years ago they had dicovered Panda fossils in Burma, Vietnam, and particularly in early in eastern China, as far north as Beijing.
