"Developing an action plan to deal with the problem of bullying"

"A written explanation of how our group could develop support among individuals and groups in our community for our proposed plan"

A) The Department of Education and the Board of Education are two main groups in Hawaii that can help our proposed plan. Support is not needed from them because we already have their support to end the problem of bullying not just in Hawaii but also in the United States. The Department of Education and Board of Education have been trying to create policies to stop the problem of bullying.

B) There are no organizations or groups against the problem of bullying in our community or in the United States. Many organizations and groups are not against the problem of bullying.

"A WRITTEN EXPLANATION OF HOW OUR GROUP COULD DEVELOP SUPPORT FROM THE GOVERNMENT FOR OUR PROPOSED POLICY"

A) A government agency that might be willing to support our policy is the United Federation of Teachers. The United Federation of Teachers has a website that gives you Anti-Bullying Resources that can lead you to help end the problem of bullying. A way that we can get their help to support us is by writing letters or sending e-mails to them. The next step up to getting their help could also be by going to their office to have a talk about our problem of bullying. Influential government officials that might be willing to support our policy is President Obama and the First Lady. They had spoke out about the problem of bullying in 2011 urging parents, schools and community leaders to look for ways to address a problem that they say has gotten worse in the age of the internet and social networking. A way we could get their support is by writing letters to them or sending e-mails.

B) People that could be against our proposed policy would be counselors and administrators. They might feel that Chapter 19 consequences could either be too harsh or not harsh enough. A way that we could convince them to support our proposed policy is by talking to counselors and administrators. We could convince them to try and change some Chapter 19 policies if they feel that the consequences for it are too harsh or not harsh enough. Another thing we could do is convince them to keep the consequences for Chapter 19 the same.

This is a picture of a graph that shows the number of lower school students who have experience a type of bullying. It shows that the highest number of students experience physical bullying by being kicked or punched at the number of 64. The lowest recorded number 11 was students being bullied for their race. We chose this graph because it shows that even lower school students can be bullied. We also chose this graph because it also shows that physical bullying had the highest number of recorded students.

This is a picture of a graph that shows a survey of student reported being bullied at school in the years 1999 and 2003. The graph shows that between the years, more students have reported being bullied. The survey recorded students in the grades 6-12. We chose this graph because its a good representation that through the years, the problem of bullying has gone up do to social media. We also chose this graph because it shows that bullying happens in many grade levels.
