Why is he a hero?

He was a hero because he landed a plane with extraordinary skill and remained calm under pressure, and saved lots of people.

~Helped develop new protocols for airline safety

~Gives back to many charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation, Best Buddies International, EAA Young Eagles and the George Mark Children’s House.
~Has written a best-selling auto-biography
~Visits schools to talk to children
~One of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people 2009


~Sully was born on January 23rd 1951 in Dennison, Texas.
~His plane was hit by a flock of geese, and he crash landed it in the middle of the hudson, saving 155 people, with very little injuries.  
~Is Married and Has Two Daughters
~When he was a kid, enjoyed building model planes.  
~When he was 12, He had an IQ in the 98th percentile
~was an air force fighter pilot
