In this rotation...
We will be learning about designing and building towers while completing the Engineering Towers Module.
In Session 1 we learned a little about the history of towers and how to design one.
In Session 2 we created a pattern to use to build the tower. (Baisically a blueprint)
In Sessions 3-6 we constructed the sides of our tower using balsa wood and glue.
In the final Session we glued the tower sides together and then tested it.
A job that would go along with what we are learning is a structural tower engineer. Structural engineers design structures such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, etc. The majority of structural engineers work primarily as consultants to architects or design-build contractors.
