Flood Plain

Flood Plain :  A area of low-lying ground adjacent to a river, formed mainly of river sediments and subject to flooding.

This is a example of a flood plain, that is a lot of water though....

Water Shed

Water Shed :  A area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas.

This is a great example of a water shed.

Head waters

Head waters : A tributary stream of a river close to or forming part of its source.

A Source : A place, person, or thing from which something comes or can be obtained.

The pool of water creates a rive without it a river wouldn't exist.

A mouth/delta : A river delta is a land form that forms at the mouth of a river, where the river flows into an ocean, sea, estuary, lake, or reservoir. Deltas form from deposition of sediment carried by a river as the flow leaves its mouth.

A Tributary : A river or stream flowing into a larger river or lake.

A small river flowing into a big one

A Divide

A Divide : Where fresh water and salt water meet and mix but do not go past each other
