What is Climate Change?

Climate change is a long term change. It is known as average weather or global warming. It includes variety of things such as precipitation,  temperature, humidity, wind and season. After the devastating Hurricane Sandy attack, there were climate change in the East Coast.   

When did climate change began?

Climate change started in the 19th century.  It was first found when ice glaciers and other natural changes in paleoclimate were first suspected and the natural greenhouse effect. From then, it became known especially in modern days.

Causes of Climate Change

There are many causes of Climate Changes in the Earth. They can be from geographic features such as volcanic eruptions, oceanic currents, release of greenhouse gases etc.  In volcanic eruptions, when it erupts, it releases gases such as SO2, water vapor, dust and ash into the atmosphere. Oceanic currents happens when variety of amounts of heat move across the planet.  It climatically change by making the seasons stronger.  For  green house gases, it releases CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) and it is caused by burning fossil fuels and other human activity.

What is Greenhouse gases?

You are probably wondering what is a greenhouse gas. Well, above this, it gives you a brief cause of what it is. To get into it, it is basically gas such as Carbon Dioxide and chlorofluorocarbons that gives to the greenhouse effect by absorbing infrared radiation.  This lead to causes of climate change.

How does this lead to climate change?

This leads to climate change in various ways. One way is that length of time  the gas has been in the atmosphere. It can be so long. In addition, the gas can warm up the atmosphere, making it more hot. Approximately 10 to 100 years. Another way each gas is absorbed by energy.  If there are to much heat in the atmosphere, it is a great chance there will be global warming.

What is greenhouse effect?

A greenhouse effect is a result of greenhouse gases that still traps heat in the atmosphere. An example is : The warming of the car interior when its left out in the sun.

How can we reduce greenhouse effects?

Reducing greenhouse effects is very simple. It's similar of how to reduce an ecological footprints.  To reduce greenhouse effects, we can carpool, use less electricity, reuse home items, reuse plastic bags, metal or anytime useful items.

How can we stop climate change?

We can stop climate change. The methods are similar of stopping Greenhouse gases. We can: use renewable power, eating for organically such as organic vegetables, fly less on an airplane, join volunteer programs to save the environment etc. If we can do all this, we will have a short climate change.

What are the Pros of Climate Change?

There are pros of climate change. Some are plants are growing in icy places, money that is spent on cleaning snow will be saved, there will be fewer deaths (Winter time). Another thing is that we learn things from Climate Change so next time we can come up with new inventions that can control it faster.

What are Cons of Climate Change?

There are many cons of Climate Change. For example, you can die from heat waves, great chances of forest fires, extinction of species, more drought, starvation, more air pollution and etc.
