Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

The definition of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, is "a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or seeing a terrifying event". About 7-8% of the U.S population will have some form of PTSD in their lifetime. (1)
Symptoms of PTSD include, but are not limited to: flashbacks, avoidance, emotional numbness, overwhelming guilt/shame, and being easily frightened. (2)  Treatments include verbal counseling, various medications, and/or a support group. Also, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) is known to help with relief of PTSD as well as depression. (3)
