Comma rule #1 when separating out phrases that don't need to be there.

Ex: My cat, kitty-cat-meow-face, is fat.

Comma rule #2 when linking two independent clauses with a conjunction.

Ex: I'd like to eat ice cream, but it's too cold outside.

Comma rule #3 when you're addressing someone in particular

Ex: Let's drink, dad.
