About Veronica Madsen
Veronica Madsen formerly served as the general counsel and director of regulatory affairs for the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL). Having completed her bachelor of science at Central Michigan University in English and communication in 1993, Veronica Madsen received her juris doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 1997.
As the league’s general counsel, Veronica Madsen performed a variety of tasks, including overseeing the creation and execution of MCUL’s contracts, nondisclosure agreements, and operating agreements. In her role as the director of regulatory affairs, she also authored operations policies and monthly regulatory summaries for the credit union league, which were published through a national subscription service. Her overall duties included managing the Regulatory Affairs Department, maintaining an online regulatory compliance library, and monitoring credit union websites to ensure compliance. For MCUL executives, she reviewed and commented on proposed legislation and regulations, and she helped communicate new regulations to trade association audiences.
Veronica Madsen earned certification from the Credit Union National Association as a Credit Union Compliance Expert. She is also involved in her community and serves as a member of the Upton Elementary School PTA.
