What an exciting week at Mill Creek! Our 5th grade students celebrated community heroes through the Liberty Legacy program. Our 6th grade students received a visit from the Liberty Middle School administrative team in order to prepare for the move to the middle school. Our 2nd grade students had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Jan Davis, an astronaut, and learned about the history of space exploration. Classrooms were buzzing with a variety instructional activities I love observing classrooms and hearing students talk about what they are learning. It was nice to see so many dressed for our spring pictures. I am proud to say that we all survived April Fool's Day...yes, some of our students fooled me!
Congratulations to the following students: Emily Wing won 1st place in the state PTA reflections contest for her entry in dance choreography. Sohan Mynampally won 6th place in the Grissom High School math tournament. Mill Creek's team placed 2nd. Sahiti Mynampally had an opportunity to play Dr. Fowler in a chess game. We are all very proud to say that she beat him.
ASPIRE testing begins this week. Our 5th and 6th grade students kick off the testing this week. Please make sure your child gets a good night's rest and eats a good breakfast on the days of the assessments. This will help them do their best.
I look forward to another amazing week being a Maverick!
