Educators and Deaf Children

Learning English is one battle within itself if you are deaf. The other two battles are being  familiar with language and understanding the mapping between, language and the printed word. When teaching deaf children English there are a few extra steps involved. The teacher must ...

1) Have a word written on the white board

2) Sign it out to the student

3) Find an Initialized sign for the word

A way for students to go home and and practice on their own is for teachers to use "Audacity", and make a slide of previous recorded audio and images to follow along with the audio. This can be made on Tackk by creating a slideshow and copying the "Audacity" Url into the slide.
