About Vijay Dandapani
An accomplished hospitality executive, Vijay Dandapani has served as the president and chief operating officer of Apple Core Hotels, a chain of five hotels in midtown Manhattan, for more than two decades. In this capacity, he has aided the company’s development and growth by managing six renovations, as well as implementing a cutting-edge computer system. Prior to joining Apple Core Hotels, Vijay Dandapani held executive positions with a number of other hotel companies, including Chatwai Hotels and Grand Champions Resorts Corporation.
Vijay Dandapani holds a master of professional studies in hotel management from Cornell University. A member of the board of directors of the Hotel Association of New York, he has spoken on hospitality issues at forums sponsored by Columbia University, New York University, and the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1998, Crain’s New York Business named him one of the top 100 minority business leaders in New York City.
An aviation enthusiast, Mr. Dandapani holds a Federal Aviation Administration private pilot license that allows him to fly single-engine aircraft.
