When you are reading, it is helpful to create mental images of what the text is telling you. Visualizing can help increase comprehension.
Activities & Templates...
Ask a class, write a story (teacher can write it on a large piece of paper in front of the class or students can come up and add their ideas) that includes strong description words. Once the short story (or a few sentences) is completed, have the students go back to their seats and draw what they visualize when reading their class story.
