The Johnson twins were born three years after their older sister. This year, the product of the three siblings' ages is exactly 4002 more than the sum of their ages. How old are the twins?

Create a Brace Map to sort the word problem out.

Take the formula found in the first step of your brace map (t+3=s) and plug it in for s. Then work out till all the variables are on one side.

Next you should see if the problem factors. By process of elimination we can determine to try to factor by grouping.

Now you have to put the equation into the calculator and where ever it crosses the x-axis it is your answer.

So there you have it the twins are 15 years old!
