The Southern Colonies

The Climate in the Southern Colonies includes short, mild winters. Therefore a shorter dormid period of not being able to grow crops. The Southern Colonies also had long, warm, and humid summers which is perfect for growing all of the cash crops.
The southern colonies are an ideal place for agriculture. The tidewater leaves minerals on the tideland, which makes the soil fertile. The southern colonies were farther south, which means the growing season are longer. The climate is warm and moist which is perfect for growing cash crops. Large rivers located here are an excellent source of transportation.
To name some of the major industry productions are Tobacco, Rice, Lumbering, Ship Building, and many more. Some of the colonies that produce Tobacco are Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia are all major producers of Pigs.
