The Columbian Exchange
Most of the stuff we have here today is made from the old world. When Christopher Columbus went on trade routes on his explorations he started trade and exchange. The old world was Europe, Asia, and Africa. The new world was North America and South America.
Tomatoes come from the new world. If it wasn't for the new world Italy wouldn't be famous for its pasta. They need the tomatoes because they need the sauce for the pasta and the sauce has tomatoes in it.
Sugar Cane came from the old world. If it wasn't for the old world the new world wouldn't have sugar today. Sugar is used for may things in the new world. People put sugar in candy, kool-aid,soda,tea, anything they want to be sweet.
Pigs came from the old world. If it wasn't for the trade of pigs the new world wouldnt have bacon. The new world wouldn't have sausages, pork chops, and etc.
Lettuce came from the old world. If it wasn't for the trade of lettuce the new world wouldn't be able to have salads. You have to have lettuce to make salad. The new world also wouldn't have cabbage because cabbage is lettuce just cut up and cooked.
Coffee is from the new world. If it wasn't for the trade of coffee to the old world the old world would't have coffee or coffee beans today. Coffee can be used for people that don't have any energy and wants some, usually a everyday morning drink, and or if they just want some coffee.
