All About Kiva Kids
Hi my name is Wynant. We are in the middle of our project about Kiva. In this project we are starting a company, getting a loan, and selling our products to our school. After, we have enough money we will pay back our loan and lend out profits to people on Kiva.
Coping and Resiliencys
This is very important because starting a company is a lot harder than an individual might think. While working on our company we had issue after issue that we didn't think would even be an issue. Although, there were many unseen issues, our group worked them out and it made us a better company that we hope to prove in the coming weeks. By coping with these issues we were able to get through them much sooner that other groups. Our group was able to stay on task and keep churning on work at a great rate because we were resilient and we were able to cope with the many problems we had .
Openness to knew ideas
I'm proud of my openness to knew ideas. For as long as I can remember, I have been very stubborn about my ideas. This year I'm really trying to become more open to knew ideas and I'm proud of how far I have come. For example, when we were picking our product I wanted to have a raffle for a slap watch. My other founders wanted to sell Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty. I eventually, I gave in after about 5 minutes and we were one of the first groups to think of a product. Our company is now doing great and to me now a slap watch raffle sounds really stupid. I know if I were younger I would have put much more of a fight and in my opinion our company wouldn't have been as successful. I'm not the most open but I'm proud of how far I have come.
It's hard being a borrower and running a business at the same time. I thought the hardest part of being a borrower was waiting for our loan to be fulfilled. It's hard because you don't know if you're gonna be funded and if the amount of money your asking for is going to be enough. I thought the hardest part was going to be picking products and filling out the borrower application. I was wrong .
"Living at risk is jumping off the cliff and building your wings on the way down."
I chose this quote because it it represents our company's journey of spending all of our company's money buying into the fidget spinners and not even knowing if the will come in time. Selling them which in this quote is represented with the building of the wings.
Currently the global compentence that is resonating with me is Complexity of World Issues. It is resonating with me because our company is making more loans and learning about world issues. When W-E-Z putty loans, we look at world issues and who needs our money now. For example, our most recent loan was to Kenya to help train workers to make clothes.
