Philanthropist and Human Resources Leader
About Von Goodloe
An EdD recipient from Union College, Memphis, Tennessee, resident
Von Goodloe began his more than 25-year education and human resources
career in 1988 with international shipping and logistics giant Federal
Express. As a senior human resources representative and training manager
for the company, Dr. Goodloe managed the firm’s corporate training
facility while supervising a team of corporate trainers. Von Goodloe
also contributed to the company’s overall strategic vision and
supervised a budget of more than $15 million.
In 1992, Von Goodloe transitioned into the education field to join Memphis City Schools. During his nearly two decades with the school system, he held key roles that included serving as a physics instructor, an assistant to the director of the Teaching and Learning Academy, and a labor relations administrator. By the time he left Memphis City Schools in 2010, he had been promoted to associate superintendent. Currently, Dr. Goodloe serves as vice president of human resources for Memphis Light Gas & Water.
Aside from his professional obligations, Dr. Goodloe maintains a strong commitment to charitable and nonprofit initiatives. Among the groups he supports are United Way, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Heart Association.
