Limerick poetry is a form of poetry that's easy to memorize because of its constant rhyme scheme and bouncy rhythm. It is a popular form for children, being humorous and nonsensical. Not a lot is known about the history of limerick but it is mostly known due to Mother Goose nursery rhymes, which is one of the oldest poems in this form and after these rhymes were introduced, many other poets adopted this version of poetry.
There once was a man from Greece
He was incredibly obese
He rolled round the world
crushing all boys and girls
then fell into a vat of grease
