Emily Elizabeth Dickinson was born at the family's homestead in Amherst,Massachusetts.Emily Elizabeth Dickinson died at the age of 55 from Bright's disease which is caused by kidney degeneration.Emily Dickinson was the second of the three children of Edward and Emily Norcross Dickinson. Samuel Dickinson,he build the homestead, a large mansion on the town's Main Street, that became the focus of Dickinson family life for the better part of a century. Samuel Dickinson was Edward father.
During her lifetime, only seven of her poem were published to a small circulation. Most of the poems she wrote were written in just six years, between 1858 and 1864. Dickinson spent seven years at the Academy, taking classes in english and classical literature, latin. Emily and her sister Lavinia begins classes at Amherst Academy, converted boys' school. In her seven years of schooling there, she is frequently absent due to illness.
