Types of Functions
Linear, Quadratic, and Exponential
Information about specific types of functions
Linear Function - A function with a constant rate of change and the graph generates a straight line. In this function, the highest exponent over the x variable is a 1.
Quadratic Function - A function with the highest exponent over the x variable being a 2. The graph of a quadratic function is a "U" shape called a parabola.
Exponential Function - A function where the x variable is an exponent above a number. The 'x' is not a base. The graph of an exponential function is a curve that either grows (increases) quickly or decays (decreases) quickly.
