The reach of Indian cinema is expanding with every passing day, as a number of Indian films are winning accolades at international film festivals. While India is still vouching for the elusive Oscar, it is not just films which put Indian cinema on the world map. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The ethereal beauty, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, made Indians stand up with pride when she won the Miss World beauty pageant in 1994. Since then she has never looked back. It is no doubt that she carved a niche for herself in Bollywood, but she time and again represented India at various film festivals especially Cannes. In fact, last year Aishwarya surprised the world by knocking of the weight gained after child birth,looking ravishing yet again at Cannes Film Festival. Government of France has honoured her with the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award in 2012. She also starred in a handful of Hollywood films like Bride and Prejudice, Pink Panther 2 etc.

Another Miss World beauty pageant winner, who is making us beam with pride right now, is none other than Priyanka Chopra. She is considered to be one of the top actresses in Indian cinema, but it is her singing talent which got her international fame. Priyanka even collaborated with international artist like Pittbull for her hit single exotic. But that’s not all, as she recently signed a deal with ABC Studios to star in an American TV series Quantico, which has got all the fans upbeat and excited.
As if making her debut in Danny Boyle’s Oscar winning Slumdog Millionare was not enough, this Mumbai girl has now managed to crack into Hollywood, making her mark in Los Angeles and starring in some big films like Rise of the Planet of the Apes along side James Franco and Immortals starring Superman fame Henry Cavill. She has also bagged nominations for Bafta Awards and has been representing India in Hollywood since 2008.
We all know her from Ristesh Bhatia’s internationally acclaimed flick The Lunchbox, which was raved by everyone at Bafta Awards and Cannes Film Festival. She also made her mark in American television industry, when she starred in a famous series, Homeland, where her part for recurring the entire season 4. Now that Nimrat is set to make an impact at the desi audience withAkshay Kumar’s Airlift, she has already made a mark in the west and made us all proud by representing India at global level.
Known for introducing bold, explicit scenes to Bollywood films, Mallika shot to fame through Emraan Hashmi’s Murder. In no time, she bagged a film along with Jakie Chan titled Myth and became the face of Indian cinema to the world for a while. She later starred in Hollywood projects like Hisss and Politics of Love, and has attended various red carpet event across the globe, making heads turn with her fashion sense.
