The Purpose of This Website
My name is Jai and I go to Holman middle school.
The purpose of this website is to inform people facts about Dwayne Johnson. In English class we have bin talking about reliable sources and unreliable sources. So for a project we had to make a website that was about a famous person. Like what I did Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson was born into a professional wrestling family on May 2, 1972 in Hayward, California. A back injury ended his college football career and costed him a spot in the NFL. The grandson of professional wrestler Peter "High Chief" Fanene Maivia and son of wrestler Rocky Johnson, the young Johnson grew up watching his father perform in the ring. But with no plans to follow in his footsteps he entered the ring with the Word Wrestling Federation. As "The Rock," he famously feuded with wrestler Steve Austin and won the WWF Heavyweight title six times. Johnson then parlayed his wrestling fame into a film career, appearing in projects like 2001's The Mummy Returns and 2010's Tooth Fairy.
Dwayne Johnson started his acting career after a successful run with the World Wrestling Federation. Dwayne Johnson was offered his first role in 2001 The Mummy Returns. He starred as Scorpion King a supernatural bad guy. Movie offers continued to come in and was offered roles outside of his action pack image. He tried his hand at comedy, he appeared in 2005's Be Cool with John Travolta and Uma Thurman and 2007's The Game Plan. In recent years, Johnson has become a popular action film star through his appearances in such films as Driver (2010) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013). In 2014, he starred as the most famous strong men of all time in Hercules.
Cause and Effect Paragraph
Background- Returned to WWE
For the first time in seven years after a successful career in Hollywood, Dwayne Johnson finally returned to the ring in 2011. The WWE fans were shocked of the appearance of "The Rock." His return involved a main-event match with John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII in April 2012. WrestleMania XXVIII was WWE’s biggest grossing pay-per-view event with 1.3 million orders and $67 million in global sales. In January 2013 Johnson captured his eighth professional wrestling title, but he lost his tittle less than three months later after losing to Cena in another highly publicized bout. This experience brought him back to his roots and what made him a celebrity which opened up doors to acting.
