It has been many months since I have written to you my dear Antoinette. We have been traveling along side Champlain up the St. Lawrence river. He has told us this area is ideal to set up a new settlement and he has named it "Quebec". There have been plenty of resources so far and it is beautiful here. Unlike the past winter, the weather is fair and quite comfortable. We have enough to eat, the fort is in the making and Samuel has already been making arrangements with some of the aboriginals in the area. Things seem to be looking up for our small group and I can see there is quite the grand opportunity for trade here. I hope things back at home in France are going well. Hope to hear from you soon.
