The haiku originated in Japan in sometime in the 1600s. Many people embraced the haiku, like Basho, Buson, and Onitsura. The length of a haiku depends on syllable. It is a 3-line poem. The first and third lines have 5 syllables and the 2nd line has 7 syllables. Most haiku's focus on nature, but not necessarily all of them do.
