The Battle of Cold Harbor was fought from May 31 to June 12, 1864.
This battle was a bloody battle, even for a short period of time. Thousands of Union soldiers were killed or wounded. General Ulysses Grant was fighting against General Robert.E.Lee. It took place in the Confederate capital of Richmond, Virginia. Grant commented in his memoirs that this was the only attack he wished he had never ordered. The armies confronted each other on these lines until the night of June 12, when Grant again advanced by his left flank, marching to James River. In the end General Ulysses Grant's army one the battle.
