Beaver Wars in Colonial Times
How did trade cause conflicts in colonial America?
Trade caused conflicts because each side of the trade had gotten greedy and they wanted more control, so they began to take from each other which caused the opposing tribe to get angry. In the article, its states that, "they did their job so well that after a few decades of killing and skinning animals, the Iroquois began running out of their furry supply." The Iroquois still wanted more items from the Europeans though. They began to take over the Alonquians and other nearby tribes. It is called "one of the bloodiest conflicts in all of American history." I think that the Native Americans could have easily avoided this problem by being satisfied with what they have and not letting their greed control them. It was also the fault of the Europeans for bringing goods and wanting things from the Natives.
