Field Day 2015
Thank you to all the parents who came out and helped on wet and rainy field day we couldn't do it without you.
This week in math we worked in chapter 12 which covered the different units of measurement. Please send some time having your child practice these skills over the summer, they have access to Gomath and other resources year-round. Please check your teachers website for more resources.
This week in reading we wrapped up DRA’s, I-Ready, book clubs and author studies. As we read aloud to the kids we continue to incorporate the comprehension skills learned throughout the year. We strongly encourage you to have your child read throughout the summer.
Students finished up their ABC projects as well as continued working on individual pieces that they chose to write about. Students presented their ABC books, presentations, and projects – it was so fun to see their creativity and improvement in writing since the beginning of the year!
No Social studies for the remainder of the year.
This week in science we continued building our Rube Goldberg Machines in groups. The machine must perform a task such as open, close, lift, turn on/off an object, etc. The kids are having a great time with this project and are working each day to make the project even better than the day before.
We will not start a new spelling unit through the end of the year.
Have a fantastic Weekend!
