Glossary

Humanist- a person having a strong interest in or concern for human welfare, values, and dignity.

Phenomenon- a fact, occurrence, or circumstance observed or observable: to study the phenomena of nature.

Nonsensical-  (of words or language) having little or no meaning; making little or no sense: A baby's babbling is appealingly nonsensical.

Preface-  a preliminary statement in a book by the book's author or editor, setting forth its purpose and scope, expressing acknowledgment of assistance from others, etc.

Dramatists- a writer of dramas or dramatic poetry; playwright.

Journalism- the occupation of reporting, writing, editing, photographing, or broadcasting news or of conducting any news organization as a business.

Eternal- without beginning or end; lasting forever; always existing (opposed to temporal ): eternal life.

Financial- pertaining to monetary receipts and expenditures; pertaining or relating to money matters; pecuniary:financial operations.

Communities- a social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality, share government, and often have a common cultural and historical heritage.

Temperate- moderate or self-restrained; not extreme in opinion, statement, etc.: a temperate response to an insulting challenge.

Complexion- appearance; aspect; character: His confession put adifferent complexion on things.

Prosperous- having or characterized by financial success or good fortune; flourishing; successful: a prosperous business.

Interaction- reciprocal action, effect, or influence.

Tragic- dreadful, calamitous, disastrous, or fatal: a tragic event.

Inspiration- an inspiring or animating action or influence: I cannotwrite poetry without inspiration.
