Aztecs were certain groups of people of central Mexico. Aztecs emerged as the dominant force in central Mexico, developing an intricate social, political, religious and commercial organization that brought many of the region’s city-states under their control by the 15h century. They spoke a language called Nahuatl. They worshiped the sun as their god. They built large temples known as their church, also were innocent people were sacrificed to their gods.
What were their cities like?
The Capital of Aztec was Tenochtitlan. It was an Urban Island. It was one of the largest cities in the world at the time of the Spanish conquest. The house of the lords and nobles normally surrounded the market places and civic centers. It was a beautiful city, with ornate temples and open plazas and tons of little shops, each specialixing in a certain goods.
What did they eat?
They ate Staple food like maize (corn) and sacred crop that can grow almost anywhere. They feasted on White tortillas, grains of maize, turkey eggs, and all kinds of fruit, Including four varieties of sweet potato, sweet manioc, avocado, and come cacti. Beans and Chia were important enough to figure as items of tribute paid to the Aztec state. Aztec cultures highly valued cacao and chocolate. They uses many substances to flavor their chocolate drink.
How did they build ?
Some houses would have flat-pole roofs, others peaked roofs. Though it was common for houses to be built right on the ground, some were built on platform. They used wood, straw, stone, sand, lime, adobe brick, and clay to build their houses. They used tools by the name of a digging stick,cold breaker, and a hoe.
What kind of gods did they believe in ?
The Aztecs had a complex and diverse group of Gods and Goddesses. The Aztecs believe in gods by the name of Huitzilopochtli, Tlaloc, and Tonatiuh. Their most important gods were the Sun, and Huitzilopochtil. They believed that the cries and tears of newborn children were sacred to the gods.
How did their warriors look?
The warrior was a glorified position in the society. A boy became a man in society at the age of 17. Aztec Warriors wore distinguishing helmets and uniforms. They carried a variety of weapons, including stabbing javelins, wooden spears, ob sidian knives, and clubs.
how did they get their food?
Much of their food came from hunting and gathering, and some food was brought by long-distance trade, but space for farming, especially on the island, was at a premium.
