Dove: Campaign for Real Beauty

The Dove campaign asked women about what attributes already make them beautiful. The campaign was launched to show real beauty which was a unique approach compared to the competing brands. The objective is to show outer beauty in its natural ways, no matter what shape, color, height, size, weight, etc.

Reevaluate how you view yourself

This visual demonstrates the confidence women and girl's should have about themselves and their bodies, no matter what they look like. They have come to a self realization of beauty, they are putting their bodies out there, and have found a new sense of confidence.

Connects to the public

Many famous stars such as Beyonce showed their natural beauty by releasing makeup less selfies. Beyonce's confidence showed all of their fans to embrace their inner beauty, and break out of your comfort zone.

Changing the future of campaigns

Dove changed the conversation in advertising being one of the few that strived to advance the cause. Like dove, Always joined the fight to increase girls and women's confidence in themselves and everything they do. During the Super Bowl always released their "like a girl" campaign.The campaign inspired girls and women to do things with a positive "like a girl" outlook. Without doves campaign, many believe that the change in advertising towards women's confidence would have not had as much impact on the messages that ads are giving off today.

When i saw this tv ad it was very interesting to me and i think if it were to be brought back, maybe do the same type of idea with Guys and ask girls and guys to act like a guy and maybe launch a hashtag on twitter to get it trending.

I agree with sharon, this commercial really stuck during the superbowl and is a message that should be made more aware of. I also agree that this was a good jump start in the right direction and is a positive way of advertising. -stephanie friedman

I also remember seeing these commercials. ^ The only thing I would do if I worked for the marketing team would be to try and show the commercial more! It's a very inspiring message and women around the world can feel more powerful about it. -Jackie Musick

The idea of spreading an idea or trying to start a movement in a commercial is a new one.

If I worked for Dove on an advertising campaign I would try and start a pledge campaign similar to the "don't text and drive" or the "stand up to bullying" campaigns to try and start a movement that would empower women.

This is like other advertising in the past because they are getting real people to interview and get a real life perspective of the campaighn dove is running
