The setting of Gandhi A March to the Sea is British India because at the end of the book a map shows where Gandhi started his journey he started his journey in Chandolo Talav and ended it in. In India Indians people are not allowed to take salt from the sea or protest. British officers watch every move that the Indians make. Every step Indians take is almost another law broken. After Gandhi got the the salt the Indians were close to freedom.
India has ceremony dances. India has laws that make no sense. Some girls of India have red dots n there forehead. India is home to Mahatma Gandhi. India's officers are very aware of what other people do.
