To Build  Fire

One lesson that can be learned from the story "TO BUILD A FIRE" is not to travel the Yukon alone when the weather is -50 degrees below 0. I believe this for three reasons. The first reason you should not travel the Yukon alone when the weather is -50 degrees below 0 is because you might not be able to build a fire when your fingers get numb. "...as he chuckled, he noted the numbness creeping into the exposed fingers. Also, he had noted that the stinging which had first come to his toes when he sat down..." He should get a partner so incase he cant feel the matches his partner might. Another reason that you should not travel the Yukon alone when the weather is -50 degrees below 0 is because you might fall in the spring and you could be stranded. "... The man broke threw. It was not deep. He wetted himself half-way to the knees before he floundered out to the firm crust." If the man had a partner, he could have helped him out and warmed him. Finally, you should not travel the Yukon alone when the weather is -50 degrees below 0 is because your partner may have provided extra essentials. " He had hoped to get into camp with the boys at six o'clock, and this would delay him an hour, for he would have to build a fire and dry out his foot gear." With a partner, he may of packed extra sox and gave it to the man to wear. But because he didn't, he had to build a fire. With the foot gear, it would have saved the man some time as well. Those were the three reasons you should not travel the Yukon alone when the weather is -50 degrees below 0.
