Let's go to the Movies!

You don't have to drag yourself all the way to the movie theater in this cold weather just to see a movie that you thought might be pretty good, all the reviews are right here! And no spoiler alerts, I promise :)

If you have ever seen the original, Annie movie (1982) then you will be blown away by our very own "Orphan Annie" of the 21st century! In this modern day version, Annie (Quvenzhané Wallis) is determined that her parents are someday to come back for her and save her from the evil and a bit koo-koo, Ms. Hannigan (Cameron Diaz) who owns the orphanage, just for the money of it. When Annie is saved from being flattened by a truck by Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx) richest man alive (and also running for mayor) that's when Mr. Stacks realizes that Annie could possibly be the best thing that has walked into hislife since paperwork. Annie is full of laughter, temptation, and excitement. Don't forget that one moment when you are on the edge of your seat? Yes, Annie has all that! Here is a trailer if you want to "watch" more about Annie!

Big Hero 6

This thrilling cliff hanger, Big Hero 6, is all about a boy named Hiro and his partner in crime, Baymax. Baymack isn't an ordinary friend that you text and have sleepovers with, he's sort of... special. When Hiro and his big brother Tadashi are working on a special science experiment to show Tadashi's college campus. At around 12 years old, Hiro has the mind of a 30 year old! He accepts the order to immediately start taking classes. Suddenly, a tragic accident occurs and it is up to Hiro and his team of heroes to stop the anonymous villan creeping in on the situation. I personally cried throughout it because I am a really big baby, but this movie features heart break, trust friendship, and don't worry boys, lots of exploding!

Into the Woods

You may think you're too cool, but I know that everyone, everyone has a favorite fairy tale or Disney character. From the wicked witch, to Cinderella, Jack and the bean stock, I could name millions. My point being, that Into the Woods is a perfectly imperfect fairy tale. It was not personally my favorite movie, but I will explain it to you for times sake. When the wicked witch (Meryl Streep) has cast a curse on the village baker (James Corden) and his wife that they are forbid by all laws in the curse to have a child. The witch explains to them four items they need to go into the woods. And all the other featured characters such as Little red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy), and Jack (Daniel Huttlestone)  as in Jack and the bean-stock must go into the woods to complete their important tasks. It is all downhill from here! Lots of mystery, random breakouts in song, and love are all in Into the Woods. Be careful what you wish for. Are you brave enough to go into the woods?

About the Author

Hello, my name is Ally Levings. I am 11 years old and in Mrs. Highley's 5th grade class. What made me decide to do a Tackk on movies, is because previously, we had winter break which was pretty awesome. I had a lot of time to watch movies at the theater with my friends and family, so I thought it might be cool for you to read about the recent films that have been released.
